Tuconic was founded by Dr.-Ing. Torsten Lodderstedt, a recognized digital identity expert, open standards enthusiast, and regular conference speaker. Before founding Tuconic, he led the consumer identity team at Deutsche Telekom in Germany and was CTO & CPO of yes.com, an open banking and identity scheme with more than a thousand IDPs.
Torsten has contributed to a wide range of broadly adopted identity standards like OAuth and OpenID Connect as well as standards for remote electronic signing (CSC) and Open Banking. His current focus is on Decentralized Identity and Verifiable Credentials. For example, he is co-author of OpenID for Verifiable Credentials, co-chairs the credential format comparison Special Interest Group at the OpenWallet foundation and supports the European Union's work on the eIDAS Architecture and Reference Framework.
